Seven courses based on fish and matching wines chosen by our Sommelier

A touch of color and lightness for the most classic and refined Venetian cuisine. Alfonso Cicerale, the new Chef of the historic Restaurant La Caravella, which since 1963 has handed down the lagoon gastronomic tradition, has created for all customers, a seven-course tasting menu, to enjoy the best of Adriatic fish.

 

Pugliese of origin, Alfonso Cicerale has worked in some of the most popular Italian and international restaurants - as L 'Embassy Restaurant in Quistello (MN) - 1 Michelin star and the Simple Restaurant in London to name a few. With a Mediterranean and creative imprint, his cuisine is characterized by the search for top quality ingredients (including pasta and organic products, daily fish from the Adriatic, vegetables from the area such as the Treviso radicchio and cheeses of tradition) with a great attention to the preparation and cooking methods of the dishes, designed to enhance the original flavors of the raw materials.

 

In the menu Cicerale revisits traditional recipes with color peaks and discrete innovations, such as in organic Spaghetti '' Senatore Cappelli '' with veracious clams, rocket chlorophyll and purple potato cream, or the dried cod cooked in pot with Taggiasca olives, or the scallop medallions seared on saffron cream and Pastis, with cuttlefish noodle marinated with red turnip. However, there is plenty of meat and vegetarian options, as well as soups. "The kitchen, for me, is a journey that involves all the senses, and it is also for this reason that I also give great importance to the presentation and the colors of the dish", comments Alfonso Cicerale. "Food means tradition, history and culture - of which Venice overflows and that never ceases to fascinate - which I try to reflect and tell even in the dishes I offer".

 

To enhance the culinary tradition of the restaurant Chef Alfonso Cicerale has created a tasting menu - for a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of eight at the same table - with seven courses based exclusively on fish at cost of € 125 per person (the cost of wines suggested by the Sommelier in combination is € 40).
